The Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program, funded by the Texas Workforce Commission, is designed to help adults (ages 19+) build the foundation for a successful career. Whether you want to master the English language, earn your GED, or gain specific job training, Collin College is here to support your journey.


Schedule Your Orientation & Testing

The next step in your journey is attending an in-person orientation and testing session. You can sign up for your preferred dates below.

What to Bring

To ensure a smooth check-in, please have the following items ready:

  • Valid Photo ID: Must be current and not expired. We accept:

    • U.S. Passport

    • State-issued Driver's License or ID Card (Any U.S. state; no "limited-term" IDs)

    • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

    • Employment Authorization Document (EAD)

  • Social Security Card: Must be presented at check-in.

  • Your XID Number: Please have this number ready for the staff.


Important Guidelines

  • Adults Only: To maintain a focused testing environment, children are not permitted during orientation or testing. Please arrange for childcare in advance.

  • Language: All orientation sessions are conducted in English to ensure consistency for all participants.

  • Age Requirement: If you are under 19, you must meet additional requirements. Please call us at 469-365-1952 before attending.
