Step into the creative realm of Digital Photography.  Begin by learning the many technical abilities now afforded using digital cameras and imaging software, including printing.  Survey the various aspects of this profession from lighting to photo essays and get a thorough grasp of what is involved in becoming a photographer.  Explore the business aspects of professional photography such as designing your marketing plan, finding the right gallery and the importance of networking. 

Complete the certificate series by taking four core and three additional elective courses.

  • Digital Photography - Advanced Skills  
  • Photoshop for Digital Photographers 
  • Adobe Lightroom 

Elective Courses (Choose three of the elective courses)

  • Building a Photography Business 
  • Flash Photography 
  • Foundations in Photograpic Style
  • Learning to See Creatively 
  • Studio Lighting 

Materials Needed

Digital cameras will be used for all projects in all classes unless otherwise stated.  Most courses require textbooks.

Requirements

Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the required courses.  The Registrar's office requires a minimum of 90% attendance for each class to be transcribed.

Upon successful completion of all requirements, email CECertificate@collin.edu to request your certificate.  Please allow up to 4 weeks to receive your certificate.
