Course Description

A beginning overview of licensing as a real estate broker or sales agent. Includes ethics of practice as a license holder, titles to and conveyance of real estate, legal descriptions, deeds, encumbrances and liens, distinctions between personal and real property, appraisal, finance and regulations, closing procedures, and real estate mathematics. Covers instruction on federal, state, and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit discrimination, and community reinvestment. Fulfills one-half of required instruction in Principles of Real Estate I and II for salesperson license.

Notes

This course will be delivered on campus with required face-to-face class meetings with some use of technology embedded through the Learning Management System (LMS).

Instructor Biography
  • Mr. Randal Levingston, CCIM, is Director of Real Estate and Facilities with Invitation Homes.  Mr. Levingston has over 25 years of corporate real estate experience and is responsible for the company’s market real estate portfolio.  Mr. Levingston has extensive experience in managing corporate portfolios in both office and industrial sectors.  He is an Adjunct Professor at Collin College teaching required courses for real estate licensing.  Mr. Levingston also holds the designation of Certified Real Estate Instructor by the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association.

    Mr. Levingston has served on several editing review committees for Texas Real Estate Commission textbooks.

    In addition to his CCIM designation, Mr. Levingston earned his Master of Corporate Real Estate designation through CoreNet.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas.
