Course Description

Examination of monetary systems, primary and secondary money markets, sources of mortgage loans, federal government programs, loan applications, processes and procedures, closing costs, alternative financial instruments, equal credit opportunity laws affecting mortgage lending, Community Reinvestment Act, and the federal and state housing agencies.

Notes

This course will be delivered on campus with required face-to-face class meetings with some use of technology embedded through the Learning Management System (LMS).

Instructor Biography
  • Bart McLeroy has served as a Professor of Real Estate at Collin College since the Fall 2018 semester. Previously he was an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at Tarrant County College from 2005 to 2016.

     

    At Collin College, Bart teaches real estate pre-licensing courses as well as continuing education courses. He serves on a variety of committees at the college, supporting workforce programs and students. He has served as the discipline lead for the real estate program since 2021.

     

    Bart is a Texas Real Estate Broker, a Texas Property Tax Consultant, and a Washington Real Estate Managing Broker. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Illinois, his Master of Science degree in Real Estate from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his MBA in Logistics Management and Consulting from the University of Applied Sciences in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

     

    Among the professional designations he holds are the CREI (Certified Real Estate Instructor), CDEI (Certified Distance Education Instructor), GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute) and ACRE (Accredited Consultant in Real Estate).
