Course Description

A study of pre-clinical chairside assisting procedures, instrumentation, OSHA and other regulatory agencies' standards.

Notes

This course is a approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). The State Board exam given at the end of class is for application to the TSBDE for a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license. This license allows a Registered Dental Assistant to work in Texas as a chairside dental assistant and take x-rays.

*There is a required 50-hour clinical externship that runs concurrently with this course. See DNTA 1060 - Clinical Dental Assisting/Assistant.

Section Notes

This section will be delivered in a hybrid format which includes 50% or less of instruction delivered online; remaining instruction will be delivered through in-person scheduled meetings.
