Course Description

High Points:  Peak Views of North American Geology

Mr. Dolliver will share views of North American geology from the summits of several U.S. states.  The author has recently returned from an expedition to Mt. Sunflower, the highest point in Kansas, with new data and insights.  Inspiration for this lecture is Highpoints of the United States: A Guide to the Fifty State Summits by Don W. Holmes (2000).

Paul Dolliver earned degrees in History and Geology from Baylor University and pursued graduate studies in History of Science at Harvard University.  He is a geologist, college instructor, reader, walker, and Texas Master Naturalist.  For 37 years, Paul mapped the subsurface geology of North America.  Paul has been involved with SAIL for several years and has facilitated discussion groups for over 35 years.  He currently teaches Oceanography at Collin College.
