Writing the Cozy Mystery

Learn something new, have fun, and to gain insight into how to write a cozy mystery.  The five sessions of the course will include defining a “cozy”, creating characters, establishing a setting, plotting a story, and writing and editing your work.

Instructor: Linda Baten Johnson

Linda Baten Johnson is an avid puzzler who loves reading and writing mysteries to find out “who done it.”  She writes cozy novellas for Barbour, a Christian publisher.  She combines her enjoyment of history and teaching in serving as a docent for the Frisco Heritage Museum and in offering short classes on historical themes, writing, and novel reviews. She grew up in White Deer, TX. Linda loves history, and the discovery of an old trunk used by her brother in the CCC sparked her interest in the first of Roosevelt’s programs for national recovery.
