Course Description
HIST 03SU26 - The Influence of Photography in Our Lives ONLINE
Time Magazine has recently created a Special Edition devoted to The Most Influential Photographic Images of All Time. There is no formula that makes a picture influential. Some images are on the list because they were the first of their kind - others because they have shaped the way we think. And some because they directly changed the way we live. What they all share is that they are turning points in our human experience. Photography was born of a great innovation and is constantly reshaping. So, it is fitting that our definition of an influential photograph changes along with the ways pictures are taken and seen. During this course we will have the opportunity to not only view these amazing photographs, but also to explore the stories behind them.
