Course Description

The parable of the blind men describing an elephant applies to the eccentric, erratic, and the unpredictable state into which the USA’s (and the world’s) finances have fallen.  Taking a broad look from “30,000 feet”, and focused on the years since 2008, we will try to make sense of the fiscal and monetary chaos in this, the first SAIL Financial Update since 2019.

Michael Booth taught finance and economics as a hobby at eight universities, including 10 years at U.T. Dallas.  As a semi-retired independent contractor, he wrote and led managerial finance seminars for 20 years at TX Instruments, Sensata Technologies and others in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Israel, and India.  His background includes commercial banking, startups, and turnaround projects.
