Course Description

This course will start where the Part 1 course left off.  Expect another erratic romp through music history from early works to film scores to music from the video game world. The class will hear all new orchestral works, opera selections, and instrumental solos in a wide and entertaining spectrum of sounds. Information about the composers and the works will precede each selection. As is usual with musicians, wild stories will be involved.

Diana Walker has a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University and a Master’s degree from Northwestern University.  Both degrees are in piano performance.  During the past 30 years, she has chaired a piano department at the university level and taught for community colleges.  Diana has served the church community as pianist, organist, and choir director.  She has arranged orchestral scores, put together chamber music concerts for radio and TV and has been a competition judge.  Her students have won competitions and earned advanced degrees.
