Course Description

This two-part online course introduces several writing exercises centered on creativity, self-expression, and enjoyment of writing micro-fiction.  Participants will be encouraged to compose short pieces of prose and engage with imaginative literature as writers as we examine voice, character, setting, and themes to develop a set of skills that we can then apply to our current and future writing projects.

Amanda Field earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Oklahoma City University.  She is currently finishing her Ph.D. in Humanities in American Literature, Creative Writing, and the history of magic and science.  As a full-time English professor at Collin College Wylie Campus.  Amanda enjoys teaching writing, working on her own short story collections, novellas, and books, knitting gifts for others, and enjoying time with her growing family.
