A study of pre-clinical chairside assisting procedures, instrumentation, OSHA and other regulatory agencies' standards.

Notes

This course is a approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). The State Board exam given at the end of class is for application to the TSBDE for a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license. This license allows a Registered Dental Assistant to work in Texas as a chairside dental assistant and take x-rays.

Clinical externship required (DNTA 1060). This section requires an additional Liability Insurance fee.

This section will be delivered in a hybrid format, which includes a mix of regularly scheduled face-to-face class meetings and online instructional activities. Additional requirements may include test proctoring with student authentication, a desktop or laptop computer (not a mobile device), a webcam, and/or a microphone.
