Course Description

A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional.

Notes

This course is a clinical requirement for completion of the DNTA 1015 Chairside Dental Assisting course. This externship must be completed concurrently with DNTA 1015 Chairside Assisting to fulfill the clinical requirements of the Dental Assistant Training course.

Students will complete 12 - 18 clinical hours per week for 3 weeks in 4, 6, or 8 hours shifts at their contracted clinical site. All assignments are submitted online through Canvas each week.
